STAR CITY — Lois Jennette Owen, 93, a resident of Star City, died Monday, September 2, 2013, at Lincoln Heights Health Care Center in Star City.
Born December 6, 1919, in Lincoln County, Ark., she was a daughter of Monroe H. and Cora Rodgers Conner.
Mrs. Owen was reared and received her early education in Glendale. Lois Jennette Conner married Arthur Owen on November 30, 1935, in Pine Bluff. Mr. Owen preceded her in death on June 19, 1991.
Mrs. Owen was a homemaker and also a cook for the Glendale Schools. She worked as a cook for 15 years. She was a lifetime member of Palmyra Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Owen enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, and canning.
Mrs. Owen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers, and two sisters.
Survivors include three sisters, Eva May Robertson of Fort Worth, Texas, Syble Ann Dunnon of Gorman, La., and Wilma Daniels of Glendale; three brothers, Harold Conner of Charleston, Ark., Carroll Conner of Star City, and Rodger Conner of Star City, many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday, September 5, 2013, at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church in Palmyra.
The funeral will follow at 11 a.m. at the church with Reverend John Marlar officiating and under the direction of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
Burial will follow in Palmyra Cemetery, in Star City, by Ralph Robinson & Son.
