Funeral services for Linda Fay Gardner, 58, of Pine Bluff, Ark., who passed away August 17 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center will be held Saturday 2:30 p.m., Highland Missionary Baptist Church in Pine Bluff, Ark. Rev. Ramon Hunter officiating.
She was born August 14, 1959 to Emma Gardner and the late Bennie Gardner. She received Christ at an early age under the leadership of the late Rev. G. L. Ford and joined Christian Outreach Ministries under the leadership of the late Apostle Robert Warrior and later reunited with her home church St. Luke MBC at Sherrill under the leadership of Reverend Ramon Hunter.
She held numerous positions in the church; however her most outstanding task was singing in the choir which she loved. In addition to singing in her church choir she was a member of the Angelz of Praise and the United Women for Christ Choirs.
She graduated from Dollarway Public Schools and attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Her employment history included: Dollarway School district, Tyson Foods, Baptist Health and Thomason Hospitality.
She was preceded on death by one granddaughter, Brooke Denise Matthews; two brothers, Bennie Gardner Jr., and Timothy Gardner and two sisters, Deloise Booth and Beatrice Taggart.
Survivors: One son, Montra’ Gardner of Monroe, la.; two daughters, Shemeka Jones and Chantel Alexander both of Pine Bluff, Ark.; her mother, Emma Gardner; two sisters, Ruby Gardner and Rose Gardner both of Pine Bluff, Ark.; four brothers, Theodis (Valorie) Eaton of Detroit, Mich., Cleorthis (Eloise) Gardner of Chicago, Ill., Eddie (Ida) Gardner and Sammie Gardner both of Pine Bluff both of Pine Bluff, Ark. One godchild, Olivia Frazier of Pine Bluff, Ark.; and one granddaughter, Tierny Gardner of Pine Bluff, Ark.
Visitations can be made Friday 6-7 p.m. at Family Time Baptist Church and Ministries (501 Ohio St., Pine Bluff, Ark.). Burial will be in the St. Luke Cemetery in Sherrill, Ark. Services entrusted to Perry Funeral Home, Inc., Pine Bluff Ark.
