Mr. Lewis Gann, age 86, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at Trinity Village Medical Center.
Lewis was born June 27, 1926 in Hollywood, AR, the son of Jewel and Olive Gann. He was educated in Arkadelphia, Ark. and graduated from Arkadelphia High School. He also attended Henderson State University. Lewis served in the United States Army during World War II in Korea and in the Philippines as Staff Sergeant and was awarded a Bronze Star.
He was a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church and also attended early services at First United Methodist Church. He was also active in the Wednesday morning Men’s Prayer Breakfast for many years. Lewis worked for 41 years at Safeway stores as a Meat Market Manager.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, his first wife, Louise Gann; and his sister, Jewel Dean Nabors.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sue Brown Gann; a daughter, Diana Javoronok (Rob); a step-daughter, Nancy Sparks (Steve); along with several step-grandchildren and a host of friends.
Visitation will be Friday from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Fuller-Hale-South Funeral Home. Private services will be held at Cypress Memorial Gardens. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mack
McCallister, Charles Rowland, George Davis, Steve Robinson, John Ballenger, Harold Strange, and Fulton Walker.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Luke United Methodist Church.
