WOODSON — Mrs. Lavonia Louise Caudell Kennedy Slavings, 81, of Woodson, passed away Friday, December 7, 2012. She was born July 2, 1931 in Perry County to the late Elmer Homer and Hazel Beane Caudell. She was a homemaker and owner of Kennedy’s car wash and laundromat in Redfield. Louise attended schools in Ada Valley (Perry County) and was a member of the Lone Pine Missionary Baptist Church and a past member of River Road Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil Kennedy; son, Cecil Kennedy and her mother, Hazel Caudell.
She is survived by her husband, Robert ‘Pop’ Slavings; sons, Bobby Dean Kennedy of Springdale and Jerry Lynn Kennedy of Redfield; daughter, Carolyn Louise Murch of Redfield; sister, Elizabeth Janette Rhodes of Little Rock; brothers, Claudie Dean Caudell of Sheridan, Charles David Caudell of Little Rock, Elmer Franklin Caudell of Woodson; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Cranford Funeral Home with Reverend Gene Murdock and Reverend Ron Meredith officiating.
Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Walnut Lake Cemetery (Dumas) by Cranford Funeral Home of White Hall.
