Joye Hankins

STAR CITY — Joye Juanice Hankins, 81, of Star City, born May 27, 1932 to the late Monroe and Pearl (Faver) Kimbrell, passed away July 26, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie M. Hankins; and sisters, Barbara Tyra and Joann Wingard. She was a lifetime member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Woodlawn. She also taught the adult ladies Sunday School class for 15 years and was the secretary for the Ladies Auxiliary for 10 years. She was a part-time employee at Jenkins Memorial Center in Pine Bluff for several years.

Joye is survived by her children, David (Karen) Selvey, Eddie (Carla) Selvey, and Millicent (Josh) Milano. She is also survived by siblings, Elnora Talent, Jerry (Sherry) Kimbrell, Bertie (Steve) Pickles, Dina (Lee) Hankins, Judy (Gary) Johnson; one special aunt, Neale Faver; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be at 1:00 p.m., on Tuesday, July 30, at New Home Missionary Baptist Church on Hwy 54, north of Glendale. Funeral following at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Mack Owen and Bro. Tom Lamb officiating.
