Mrs. Joyce Allison Ferrell, 81, of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
Born August 24, 1931 at Pine Bluff, Mrs. Ferrell was a daughter of the late Carey Baker Allison and Mamie Stephens Allison. She was a 1949 graduate of Watson Chapel High School, where she was a star basketball player. She also played softball for Sunbeam Bread, and her father never missed a single game.
Joyce was the first female licensed realtor in Pine Bluff, and worked for Buckner Realty for 36 years, and was of the Baptist faith.
She married Robert “Shorty” Ferrell on October 6, 1950, and he preceded her in death on November 15, 2000. Also predeceasing her was an infant sister, Louise Allison.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Ferrell (Trena) and Mark Ferrell (Cindy); three daughters, Necia Ferrell Graves (Ronnie), Kim Ferrell Anderson (Wayne), and Allison Ferrell Yaney (Chris); two brothers, Buddy Allison (Shirley) and Jimmy Allison (Janet); two sisters, Gwen Allison Rhodes and Dorothy Allison Harris (Dale); eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, at Good Faith Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ferrell’s family will be at the home of Kim and Wayne Anderson.
