Jonnie Lois Cagle Hamby, 61, of Pine Bluff, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 11, 2013, after a courageous fight against cancer.
She was surrounded by her dear family and friends.
She was born June 15, 1951, in Camden to the late Leon and Lois Moore Cagle. She graduated from Smackover High School in 1969. Mrs. Hamby worked for the Dollarway School District as a secretary at James Matthews Elementary School. She was an active member of Canaan Baptist Church for 34 years and was a witness for Christ through her love of others. Jonnie enjoyed every aspect of life; music, puppies, babies, flowers, traveling and spending time with her family. She is admired by many people because of her kind and generous spirit. Her love of life and laughter was contagious.
She is survived by her husband, C. A. Hamby, whom she married February 27, 1971; son, Derek Hamby, his wife Amy, of Mississippi; daughters, Jocelyn Potter, her husband Daniel of Pine Bluff and Lindsey Hamby-Campbell, her husband Will of Maumelle; grandchildren, Samantha Sossaman, Jake Hamby, Nick Hamby; brother, Richey Cagle, his wife Patty.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Canaan Baptist Church with burial at 2:00 p.m. in Rest Haven Cemetery in El Dorado.
Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Texarkana Baptist Orphanage, 5401 East 9th Street, Texarkana, Arkansas.
