STAR CITY — Mr. John Wesley Grider, 77 of Star City died Sunday at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born August 18, 1935 in Lincoln County to the late Claude Harris and Kathleen Jane Shockley Grider. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church at Crigler, served in the Navy, was a farmer and then a transportation driver for railroad crews.
Also preceding him in death were a daughter; Vicky Diane Grider and a brother; Max Douglas Grider.
Survivors include his wife; Linda Grider of Star City, two daughters; Elizabeth Jane Collins of Warren and Claudette Cover of Gillette, two brothers; Ronnie Grider of Tillar and Travis Grider of Waxahachie, Texas, two sisters; Nola Larrison of Lake Village and Judy Harrison of Arkadelphia, three grandchildren; Chris Collins of Dallas, Texas, Carrie Stephens of Baton Rouge, La. and Jake Coburn of Star City and one great-grandchild; Eli Coburn of Star City.
Funeral Services are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity United Methodist Church at Crigler. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial at Trinity Cemetery in Crigler. Memorials may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, C/O Pauline Myrick, 300 W. Victory, Star City, AR 71667.
