CLINTON — Jerry Wayne James, Sr. age 73, of Clinton, Ark., died Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at Baptist Health Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born April 11, 1940, in Jonesboro, Ark., a son of the late Edward Jesse and Beatrice Culbertson James. He was a graduate of Dollarway High School. He then served in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Caribou, Maine. He was in business with his father at Jesse James Incorporated, a preowned automobile company. He retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad as a conductor, after many years of service. He was a Mason, a Shriner and a Baptist.
He is survived by one son and daughter in law, Buck and Jennifer James of Camden; daughter and son in law, Pam and Lyle Blake of Pine Bluff; sister and brother in law, Pat and David Michael of Pine Bluff; five grandchildren, Kimberlee Koonce, McKinze James, Ty Johnson, Grayson Johnson and Major James; several nieces and nephews; and his loyal and faithful Saint Bernard, GG.
A Memorial service will be held Friday, August 2, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Van Buren Animal Control Shelter, 187 Tester Street, Clinton, Arkansas 72031.
