Mr. James William “Jim” Jones, 77, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at his home.
Born July 7, 1935, in Pine Bluff, he was a son of Clinton and Estelle Berks Jones.
Mr. Jones was reared and received his early education in White Hall, graduating from White Hall High School. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Arkansas at Monticello.
James William Jones married Dorothy Louise Coats on August 24, 1957, in Greenville, Miss. He was a United States Army veteran. Mr. Jones was a chemical furnisher for International Paper Company, retiring in 1996. He was an outstanding high school athlete. Mr. Jones was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Pine Bluff.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Merle Jones; one sister, Patricia Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Louise Jones of Pine Bluff; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy Lee and Sissy Jones of Pine Bluff; one grandson, Tanner Lee Jones of Pine Bluff.
The visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
The funeral will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Gary Bell officiating. Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.
