WHITE HALL — Jack Bentley, 69, of White Hall, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at his home.
Born April 9, 1943, in Decatur, Ill., he was the son of the late William and Dorothy Willis Bentley. He was reared and received his early education in Illinois, graduating from Stephen Decatur High School.
After high school, Mr. Bentley enlisted in the United States Air Force. He retired from the military after twenty years of service.
After a career in the Air Force, he worked twenty-two years for Valley Services as a Food Service Director.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one daughter, Lurra Bentley.
He is survived by his wife, of nearly 25 years, Lyla Bentley, of White Hall; his sons, Dirk Bentley, of Oil City, La., Chadd Bentley, of Waxahachie, Texas, Jonathan Bentley and Jack Bentley, Jr., both of White Hall; his step-daughter, Sheila Fakharian, of Tehran, Iran; nine grandchildren; and his two sisters Janice Davis, of Plummerville, Ark., and Janet Sumpter, of Decatur, Ill.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Reverend Lindy Davis officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son.
