Mr. Irving W. “Topper” Twitchell, 93, a resident of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
Born November 7, 1919, in Vestal, New York, he was a son of George R. and Eva Fregeau Twitchell.
Irving was reared and received his early education in Binghamton, New York. At age eighteen he enlisted in the United States Army. He served during World War II and was discharged as a First Sergeant, hence his nickname, “Topper”. Irving Walter Twitchell married Myra Hobson on July 29, 1944, in Fort Smith.
Irving was a journeyman electrician in construction and travelled to many states for his work. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Mr. Twitchell was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, James Twitchell; one sister, Irene Voehringer.
Survivors include his wife, Myra Twitchell of Pine Bluff; one cousin, Douglas Twitchell of Novato, California; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
The vigil will be at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2013, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Warren Harvey celebrating.
Burial will follow at 3:00 p.m. in Dermott Cemetery by Ralph Robinson & Son.
