Mrs. Irene B. Chambers, 84, of Pine Bluff, died Friday, December 21, 2012, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born April 17, 1928, in Pine Bluff, to Joseph Benjamin and Alice Pearl Cearley Bailey.
Mrs. Chambers was reared and received her education in Pine Bluff.
She has worked for the Watson Chapel School District for 27 years before retiring as the manager of the cafeteria.
She was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church and enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Morris Chambers, whom she married on December 22, 1948, in Pine Bluff; a son, William Ronald Chambers; her parents; a sister, Margarette Goodman and her brothers, Vernon Bailey and Jake Pierce.
Survivors include her son, Randall Morris Chambers (Bonnie) of Pine Bluff; a daughter, Connie Marie Chambers of Pine Bluff; sisters, Letha Magness of Pine Bluff, Clara Henderson of Pine Bluff; a grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Sunday at Robinson’s.
Services will be 10 a.m., Monday, December 24, 2012, Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church with Reverend Willis Findley officiating.
Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery.
