MALVERN — Helen Gnagy Rowe, age 89, passed away in Malvern, Ark. on August 8, 2012, in Malvern Nursing Home. She was born April 10, 1923, in Greenleaf, Kan., to John L. Gnagy and Marjorie Moore Gnagy. She was predeceased by her husband Glenn Rowe, parents, a brother and a sister. She is survived by a sister, Roseanne Ryan of Pennsylvania, son Bob Rowe (Louanne) of Malvern, Ark., daughter Rosemary Rowe Hughes (Tony) of Toledo, Ohio, granddaughters, Jennifer Rowe, Fayetteville, Ark., Anne Hughes White (Joe) of Little Rock, Ark., and great-grandson, Austin Rowe, Bryant, Ark. She was predeceased by a grandson, Jeffrey Rowe.
She moved to Florida from Kansas at an early age and graduated from high school in Ocala, Fla. She met and married Glenn Rowe in 1943 in Panama City, Fla., while he was serving in the US Army Air Corps. In 1945, she and her husband moved back to Arkansas. They were married for 68 years and lived most of that time in Pine Bluff and White Hall, Ark.
Most of her adult life was spent being a homemaker and supporting her husband in his business career, traveling with him after retirement, and helping him in his garden. She was active in The Ladies American Auxiliary and had a very special caring for those in need. Visitation will be 10–11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan, Ark. The graveside service will immediately follow at Lost Creek Cemetery in Sheridan.
