SHERIDAN — Gwen D. Tucker, 79, of Sheridan, died Thursday, August 24, 2012, at St. Vincent Infirmary Medical Center.
Mr. Tucker was born April 17, 1933, in Stamps, Ark., the only child of Carl Dee and Esther Ruth Camp Tucker. He was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff, where he graduated from Watson Chapel High School in 1951. He also attended Arkansas A & M in Monticello. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Tucker married Gladys McDaniel on January 9, 1953, in Pine Bluff.
He worked for the former AP & L ( currently Entergy) for 38 years, retiring as a serviceman in 1992.
Mr. Tucker was a member of former Olive Street Baptist Church (now Olive Branch), and was a member of the Masonic Lodge #69.
His survivors include his wife of 59 years, Gladys McDaniel Tucker of Sheridan; two sons, Dr. Randal K. Tucker of Little Rock and Rodney G. (Natalie) Tucker of Medina, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Chris Tucker of Ripley, Tenn., Lauren Schoate of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Colton Tucker of Medina, Tenn.; and one great-grandchild, Moses Ezekial Shoate of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 27, 2012, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. Roger Stewart officiating by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Pulaski County Humane Society or any other humane society of the donor’s choice.
