QUITMAN — Greg Taylor, 54, of Quitman, Ark., passed away Monday, October 8, 2012 at the UAMS Medical Center.
Born June 10, 1958, in Pine Bluff, Ark., he was the son of the late Ray Laverne and Kathrynn Sinks Taylor. He was reared and received his education in Pine Bluff, graduating from Watson Chapel High School.
Mr. Taylor was a police officer for the Pine Bluff Police Department for 17 years before retiring in 2001.
He was a Baptist and a member of the Blue Knights and the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Dennis Taylor.
His survivors include his wife of 16 years, Melissa Taylor, of Quitman; his two sons, Jonathan Taylor of Redfield and Justin Webb of Pine Bluff; his four daughters, Shelly Taylor, Jennifer Taylor, Shalena Taylor, all of Redfield and Charlotte Webb, of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Kennedy Robinson, Aubrey Robinson and Jacob Taylor, all of Redfield; one brother, Gary Taylor, of Pine Bluff and one sister, Paula Krisell, of Mobile, Ala.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, October 12, 2012 in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson and Son with Reverend Jeff Krisell officiating. Burial will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery in Grant County.
