George Stover

SULPHUR SPRINGS — George J. Stover, age 88, of the Sulphur Springs Community, “a great man, has gone on to a greater place”, on Thursday, May 23, 2013. He was born October 20, 1924 in the “Y” Community near Rison, a son of the late Claude B. Stover and Versa Rhodes Stover. Mr. Stover retired from International Paper Company after twenty six years of service. He was a member of the International Paper Companies Quarter Century Club and the Retirement Club. Mr. Stover was an outdoorsman that loved camping, fishing and spending time with his family. He was a member of Sulphur Springs United Methodist Church. Mr. Stover was also preceded in death by one brother, Willie Stover; one sister, Claude Mae Harrison.

Mr. Stover is survived by his wife of 63 years, Harrialine Neal Stover of the Sulphur Springs Community, whom he married on April 14, 1950; son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Joe and Beverly Stover of Hot Springs Village; two brothers, Robert Lee Stover of Pine Bluff, Roland H. Stover of Queens City, Texas; two granddaughters, Natasha Richardson and Paulla Stover; two great-granddaughters, Jessica Montgomery and Jenna Montgomery.

Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Black Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m to 12:30 p.m., at Buie Funeral Home, prior to service time. Arrangements are under the direction of Buie Funeral Home of Rison (870) 325–6216,
