Mrs. Geneva Young Davis, age 99, of Pine Bluff, Ark., formerly of Dermott, Ark., passed away Wednesday, April 10, 2013. She was born November 3, 1913 in Arkansas City, Ark.
She was a graduate of A.M. & N. College in Pine Bluff, Ark. After graduation, she taught school for 35 years.
Mrs. Davis was an Eastern Star, a reassurance caller for the Red Cross, and a member of the College Board for Morris Booker Memorial College in Dermott, Ark.
Survivors include one son, Walter (Gloria) Davis III of Pine Bluff, Ark.; one daughter, Bobbie (Steve) Small of Mobile, Ala.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Lawrence of Little Rock, Ark., Elizabeth Pitts of Berkeley, Calif.; one brother, Ceasar Young of Oakland, Calif.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her sister Marie Davis of Little Rock, Arkansas died on April 13, 2013.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist church with Rev. Harold Shirlee officiating.
Burial will be in the Cedar Grove Section of Graceland Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
The remains will lie in state at the church from 9:00 a.m. until funeral time.
