Floyd Wilson Jr.


Mr. Floyd Preston Wilson, Jr., 83, of Pine Bluff, died Sunday, October 7, 2012.

Born April 20, 1929 at Pine Bluff, he was a son of the late Floyd Wilson and Pearl Peden Wilson.

Mr. Wilson was a member of Matthews Memorial Baptist Church,

Sahara Shriners and the White Sulphur Masonic Lodge #122. He was also proud to have been a Captain Assistant Commander for Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department Rescue Unit for many years.

As a master carpenter, he worked for several furniture makers throughout his career,

most notably his first wife’s family business, Wafford Manufacturing Company. He later worked for the Arkansas Department of Corrections, and retired from the Jefferson County Road Department.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two wives,

Mary Nell Wafford Wilson and Floy Jean Strahan Wilson; a daughter, Mary Kay Knight; and a brother, Orville Wilson.

He is survived by his son, Donnie Wilson; five grandchildren, Travis McDaniel and wife Brianne, Johnny McDaniel,

Chris Wilson and wife Anissa, Diana Wilson and Heidi Lybrand; a number of great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10 a.m.

at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Brother Mike Poye officiating.

Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery with Masonic Rites.

Visitation will be Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
