SHERIDAN — Clara Mae Kelley Falls, 91, of Grant County, died Friday, August 16, 2013.
Born February 19, 1922, at Pine Bluff, she was a daughter of the late Euklin Lafayette Kelley and Lela Pearl Phillips Kelley.
A devoted Christian, Mrs. Falls was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Falls was a homemaker and an accomplished seamstress, having worked outside the home for a time in retail at Top Value Stamps, Campbell Bell Department Store and lastly Baims Department Store. She was known for her cross-stitch and her astonishing ability for puzzle solving, from the largest jig-saw puzzles, and until recently, the most difficult of crossword puzzles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years,
Houston D. Falls, to whom she had wed on May 6, 1944; and three siblings, Charles Kelley, Ruby Creed and Thelma Worthen.
Mrs. Falls is survived by her son, H.D. Falls and wife Teresa Tomboli Falls; a sister, Grace Lawrence and husband James; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Graveside services were Saturday, at Providence Cemetery with Brother Mack Sinclair officiating.
