Mr. Chester Ed Lee Phillips, 71, of Pine Bluff, died Tuesday, January 29, 2013.
Born January 28, 1942 at Etowah, Arkansas, he was a son of Maxine Nash Phillips and the late Chester Phillips.
A member of Maranatha Baptist Church for over 40 years, Chester more recently attended Salem Missionary Baptist. He retired from Pine Bluff Sand & Gravel in 2002 as a mechanic and shop foreman after 38 years of service.
He loved his family and the outdoors, some of his favorite pastimes were camping, fishing, riding his motorcycle and spoiling grandchildren.
In addition to his father, Chester was preceded in death by two siblings, Roy Phillips and Carolyn Sperry Smith; He is survived by his mother, Maxine Phillips; his loving wife of 46 years, Barbara Wasson Phillips, to whom he was married, April 22, 1966; daughters, Shelli Maroney (Roy), Robin Silvey (Tim), and Samantha Davis (Eugene); brother, Loyd Phillips; 11 grandchildren, Jacob Brasher, Justin Brasher, Spencer Silvey, Tiffani Silvey, Kaci Silvey, Alecia Bradshaw, Sgt. Zac Davis, Hunter Davis, CJ Davis, Wyatt Davis and Wesley Davis; two great-grandchildren, Haydon Bradshaw and Conner Davis; and many other loving family and friends.
Graveside services will be Friday, 2:00 p.m. at Fitzhugh Cemetery with Brother Howard Loetscher officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 6-8 p.m. at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel.
