WHITE HALL––Mr. Charles Edward “Charlie” Herren, 92, of White Hall, died Tuesday, December 18, 2012.
Born December 5, 1920 at Knowltons, Ark., he was a son of the late John Marion Herren and Rosamond Hardin Herren.
Mr. Herren was a United States Naval Veteran having served during WWII.
He retired in 1984 from The Cotton Belt as a welder after 28 years of service.
Whether fishing, gardening, or crafting, he enjoyed working with his hands, but most of all he loved his family, and loved them dearly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister; four brothers; and a great-granddaughter, Danielle Bailey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Mrs. Maureen Peterson Herren, to whom he was married March 10, 1941 at Lake Village, Ark.; daughters, Rose Forrest and husband Paul, and Doris Law; sons, Brady Herren and Charles T. Herren; two sisters; five brothers; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, at Fuller Hale-South Funeral Chapel with Brother Tim Law officiating.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
