Bobbie Lois Elswick Smith, 88, of Pine Bluff, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013.
Born December 12, 1924 in Holland County, Texas, she was a daughter of the late Robert Elswick and Virginia Grant Elswick.
A dedicated member of Forrest Park Assembly of God, Mrs. Smith loved her church and church family dearly.
She was an avid antique enthusiast and loved thrifting. She owned and operated Blake Street Antiques from the early to mid 1980’s until 1996. She more recently was active in the operations of Smith Wrecking Company. Although she worked outside of the home, she was a homemaker none-the-less. She always enjoyed cooking for her family, and was known for her “Bobbie Burgers”.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, J.D. Smith in 1991; siblings, Ervil Elswick, John Elswick, Chester Elswick and Edith Ross; grandchildren, Micah Don Smith and Marianne Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay Atherton and husband Charlie; sons, Gary Don Smith and wife Joyce and David Lynn Smith, siblings, Mary Gwin and Bill Elswick; five grandchildren, Chad, Kahle, Garianne, Suzanne and Leanne; two great-grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be Monday, 1:00 p.m. at Forrest Park Assembly of God by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services with Pastor David Dalton and Pastor Eddie Gwin officiating.
Visitation will be Monday, 12:00 p.m. until service time at the church.
Mrs. Smith will lie in state Sunday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
