Bettye Triplett


Mrs. Bettye Sue Triplett, age 82, of Pine Bluff, passed away at her home Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Mrs. Triplett was born July 11, 1930, in Pine Bluff, to the late Robert J. and Ona L. Montgomery Hampton Quattlebaum.

She was reared and received her education in Pine Bluff, where she attended Sixth Avenue Grade School and Pine Bluff High School.

She married Charles L. Triplett, November 21, 1948, in Pine Bluff, the son of Walter and Mae Murdock Triplett.

In her early years she was employed briefly by Murray Hart Drug Co., Jefferson Hospital Association and Pine Bluff School District #3.

She was a homemaker, and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. She was also a long time past member and past president of the Beta Chi Chapter #2289 of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority in Pine Bluff. In later life, she was very active in and was a Life Member and Past President of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars John & Roy Horn Post 4455 in Pine Bluff; which she attended regularly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Hampton and Ona L. Montgomery Hampton Quattlebaum and her daughter; Donna Marie Hill

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Charles L. Triplett; three sons, Charles L Triplett Jr. wife Elizabeth, of Burke, Virginia, Thomas M. Triplett of Springdale, and David E. Triplett of Hot Springs; a sister, Leah Hampton of Pine Bluff; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 4, 2013, in the Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors with Reverend Don Taylor officiating. Burial will be in

Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Robinson’s.
