LITTLE ROCK — U.S. Sen. Mark Pryor, D-Ark., and his wife are divorcing, the senator announced Friday.

Jill Pryor filed divorce papers Friday in Pulaski County Circuit Court.

“This was a mutual decision between the two of us,” Pryor said in a statement released by his office. “This is a private matter for our family and during this painful time Jill and I would appreciate privacy, understanding and your prayers, especially for our children.”

Pryor and his wife have been married for 20 years and have two teenage children.
