Former Ross spokesman headed to SBA

WASHINGTON – Van Buren native Brad Howard has been named public affairs and media manager for the Small Business Administration’s Office of Advocacy.

Howard was a spokesman for former Rep. Mike Ross, R-Prescott, from July 2008 to February 2012. He most recently served as communications director for the Blue Dog Coalition, a caucus of moderate House Democrats.

SBA’s Office of Advocacy is responsible for advancing the views and concerns of small businesses before Congress, the White House, federal agencies, federal courts and state policy makers, according to Howard.

“This move is a great professional opportunity and, as the son of small business owners, a great personal fit,” Howard said.

Howard’s parents, Joe and Tammy Howard, own Fort City Motors, Inc., in Fort Smith.

Howard is a 2006 graduate of Hendrix College in Conway
