LITTLE ROCK —Kimberly Friedman was named director of communications for the Arkansas Department of Education by Commissioner of Education Tom Kimbrell on Monday.
Friedman has worked for the previous 12 years as communications director for the Department of Workforce Services.
“Kimberly assumes her new role with a commitment to communicating with all stakeholders,” Kimbrell said in a press release.
Friedman received a B.A. from the University of Central Arkansas in 1997 with a major in journalism and minor in history. She worked for local newspaper organizations including the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, The Pine Bluff Commercial and The Echo.
“I look forward to working with the communications team to serve the educators in Arkansas,” Friedman said.
Friedman assumed her new position Monday.
