Corn: Comeback Kid

Grain trucks are backed up at an elevator on Thursday in Helena, the byproduct of a booming corn harvest in the Arkansas Delta. Phillips County Extension Agent Robert Goodson said the line was up to 50 trucks Thursday afternoon, but stretched to about 100 trucks on Wednesday. Considering each bushel of corn is about $5, and each truck carries about 1,000 bushels, “That’s a lot of money for one little highway to carry,” Goodson said Thursday.
