An Arkansas News Bureau story that ran in Wednesday’s edition on countries barring Arkansas poultry because of an avian flu outbreak in one community did not distinguish between the N5N1 and H7N7 strains of the bird virus.The N5N1 strain is a potent form of the bird flu, while the H7N7 strain, which was found in a chicken house in Scott County this month, is a mild form.

Also in that article, Livestock and Poultry Commission Director Preston Scroggin’s name was spelled incorrectly.
