LITTLE ROCK — The number of homes sold in Arkansas in July was up 19 percent from July 2012, and the average price of homes sold was up nearly 2 percent, the Arkansas Realtors Association said Tuesday.
The association said 2,594 homes were sold in the 43-county area it surveyed in July, up from 2,178 in July of last year. The average price of a home last July was $166,348, up from $163,655 a year earlier.
Benton County had the most homes sold in July with 441, followed by Pulaski County with 438, Washington County with 266, Saline County with 155 and Faulkner County with 138.
In Sebastian County, 123 homes were sold. Thirty-four were sold in Jefferson County.
The average home price for the month was highest in Garland County at $201,010, followed by Pulaski County at $199,575, Benton County at $197,190, Washington County at $187,020 and Saline County at 182,915.
The average home price was $148,039 in Sebastian County and $89,734 in Jefferson County.
