LITTLE ROCK — Two dozen homes were sold in Jefferson County in January, according to Arkansas Realtors Association report Thursday.
The average home price was $116,762 in Jefferson County, according to the report which also said the number of homes sold in Arkansas in January increased by 11.6 percent compared to a year ago. The average price of homes sold decreased by 2.7 percent.
The association said 1,448 homes sold in the 43-county area it surveyed in January, up from 1,297 in January 2012. The average price of a home was $144,471, down from $148,428 a year earlier.
Pulaski County had the most homes sold in January with 238, followed by Benton County with 223, Washington County with 157, Faulkner County with 97, Saline County with 88 and 50 in Sebastian County.
The average home prices for the month were highest in Benton County at $175,690, followed by Pulaski County at $169,606, Columbia County at $160,416, Cleburne County at $155,907, Washington County at $154,488 and Sebastian County at $123,823.
