More than 2,100 Entergy customers were without power in Jefferson County and northeastern Grant County at press time as a severe thunderstorm rolled through Southeast Arkansas.
Emergency workers were responding to calls about downed trees and downed power lines in Jefferson County at about 10 p.m.
The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning Friday evening that included all of Jefferson and Arkansas counties and parts of Cleveland, Dallas, Grant and Lincoln counties. At press time, the warning was in effect until 10:45 p.m.
The weather service was warning that the storm could produce damaging winds, hail, deadly lightning, heavy rain, power outages and flooding.
