Fundraiser is slated for investigator’s sister

A benefit fundraiser has been scheduled Saturday to aid an ill sister of Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigator Sgt. Jennifer Cote-Carr.

All proceeds will benefit Carla Jo “Jodie” Minton Webb of Roe (Arkansas County), who had surgery on July 10 as treatment on an astrocytoma brain tumor. Webb was originally diagnosed with brain cancer in 2011 and underwent two previous surgeries before the tumor was discovered to have grown.

Plate dinners will be sold from 4-9 p.m. Saturday at the A&C Catfish House in Humphrey. In addition, a bake sale and a silent auction will be held. Auction items will include about 40 donated items ranging from jewelry and artworks to a shop fan, lamps and rare stamps.

Because of her illness, Webb has been unable to work but still hasn’t qualified for government assistance, according to Cote-Carr, whose husband, Ronnie Carr, is an Arkansas County sheriff’s deputy.

Cote-Carr said an account to assist her sister has been established at Bancorp South Bank in Stuttgart under the name of The Carla Medical Fund.
