A female driver was airlifted by MedFlight to Baptist Hospital in Little Rock Wednesday evening after a two vehicle accident just south of England on Highway 15 in Lonoke County near the Jefferson County line.
Arkansas State Police Trooper First Class Jason Dooley, assigned to Little Rock-based Troop A, responded to the accident that occurred around 5:45 p.m. near the intersection with Tarbottom Road, involving a white Chevrolet Tahoe sport utility vehicle and a purple Ford pickup truck.
“The driver of the purple Ford pickup had to be extricated from the vehicle and was airlifted by MedFlight to Baptist Hospital,” Dooley said. “The Tahoe crossed the center line and struck the purple truck head-on.”
Dooley said that the Tahoe was occupied by one adult and three children, none of whom were reported injured in the collision, and that the pickup was occupied by the driver.
Dooley said that while the accident was still under investigation and no citations had yet been issued, preliminary findings indicate that the driver of the white Tahoe was at fault.
Dooley said that in addition to the State Police, units with the Lonoke County Sheriff’s Office, the England Police Department and the England Fire Department responded to the scene.
While no names or ages were immediately available, Dooley said that all occupants of the two vehicles are residents of England.
