A Pine Bluff woman was arrested Tuesday after she allegedly shot another woman following an argument..
Nikita McCargo, 24, allegedly shot the victim in the right foot, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing for McCargo on Wednesday.
Detective Steve Rucker said in a probable-cause affidavit that police were sent to the 1900 block of West Havis Street at 12:55 p.m., in response to reported gunshots, and found the alleged victim, who was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Kizer said the shooting allegedly occurred after an argument about a $20 debt.
McCargo allegedly waived her right to an attorney and admitted the shooting, Rucker said in the probable-cause affidavit.
Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set a $25,000 bond for McCargo after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge her with first-degree battery.
McCargo was also ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled, and was told to come back to court June 26.
