Pine Bluff police investigating a reported burglary at house on the west side of the city were able to find witnesses to the crime and arrested one of two people allegedly involved.
Derrick Brown, 19, reportedly admitted taking an air conditioner from a residence at 5304 W. Fifth Ave. and selling it, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing Tuesday for Brown.
Detective Jacqueline Stevenson reported that the witnesses identified Brown and a second person, who is still at large.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Brown after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with commercial burglary and misdemeanor theft of property.
Kearney appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent Brown, and told him to come back to court Oct. 23.
