A White Hall woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident on the Martha Mitchell Expressway early Sunday morning.
Police Lt. David Price identified the victim as Betty McEntire, 57, who died at a Little Rock hospital as a result of her injuries.
The accident was reported at approximately 7:50 a.m. between Willow Street and University Drive. According to Price, a Toyota Sequoia driven by McEntire was traveling east on the expressway when it left the roadway on the south side, became airborne and struck several trees.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, McEntire was the administrative secretary for Sheriff Gerald Robinson and had worked for the sheriff’s department for 16 years.
Price said in a news release that the reason the vehicle left the roadway has not been determined and the accident is still under investigation.
