A report that two young black males were in the back yard of a house on Bay Street trying to get in resulted in their arrest on felony charges Tuesday.
Colton Dickson, 22, and a 17-year-old, who was not identified because of his age, were reportedly cutting copper from the ceiling of a utility room when they were apprehended, Detective Steven Rucker reported in a probable cause affidavit.
Rucker reported that Dickson and the other suspect had forced the door of the utility room open and were found inside when police were called to the house Tuesday morning.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Dickson after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with breaking or entering.
Kearney appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent Dickson, and told him to come back to court Feb. 13.
The case against the other suspect will be handled in juvenile court.
