Two Pine Bluff residents have been arrested and police say more arrests are anticipated following an investigation into a series of robberies.
Police Lt. Denise Richardson said Cameron Arnold, 28, and Brittany D. Smith, 23, were taken into custody Tuesday by police detectives assisted by Jefferson County Sheriff’s deputies.
Richardson said the robberies involved victims from out of state who answered ads on Craigslist offering used vehicles for sale. So far, nine robberies have been reported and Richardson said it is possible that there are other victims who have not contacted police.
According to a news release, detectives worked for several months on the investigation, traveling from state to state showing victims photo lineups of suspects and collecting witness statements.
Arnold and Smith are being held on probable cause of aggravated robbery pending the filing of formal charges.
Richardson said a reward is being offered for information pertinent to the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Detective Division at 730-2090. All calls will be kept confidential.
