A reported burglary in progress early Thursday morning resulted in the arrest of two men who allegedly kicked open the door of a house on the north side of Pine Bluff and took a television.

Shaquarius Age, 18, and George Jenkins, 34, were caught in the neighborhood after a witness called 9-1-1 and gave a dispatcher a description of the two suspects and the clothing they were wearing.

Detective Steve Rucker reported that officers were sent to 803 N. Palm St., at 1:30 a.m. in response to the reported burglary, and found Age and Jenkins about a block away, wearing clothing that matched what the caller had told a dispatcher.

The two were arrested after a short foot chase.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Age, who had no prior convictions or pending charges, after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with residential burglary and theft of property.

A $50,000 bond was set for Jenkins, whose prior convictions include attempted murder, on the same charges.

Both men were told to come back to court March 29.
