Arkansas State Police working a traffic checkpoint Saturday night arrested a man who appeared to be driving under the influence of drugs and during a search of his vehicle, officers found suspected ecstasy pills.

Trooper First Class Keon Thompson reported that Adrian Spratt, 29, was stopped at a checkpoint on U.S. 79 at Island Harbor Road at 11:40 p.m. and Thompson reported the odor of marijuana coming from Spratt’s vehicle.

Thompson reported that Spratt appeared to be trying to conceal something and when he was patted down, troopers allegedly found a bag containing marijuana and another bag containing pills.

Spratt was carrying $1,075 cash when he was arrested and troopers also found a small set of digital scales in the vehicle, Thompson said in a probable cause affidavit.

Bond for set at $5,000 for Spratt following an agreement between Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer and Pine Bluff attorney Stephanie Flowers, who appeared in court Monday and said she would represent Spratt.
