Small quantity of methamphetamine leads to arrest

A Pine Bluff man was arrested Wednesday after a small quantity of suspected methamphetamine was found in his apartment.

Stevan Wilson, 53, gave police consent to search the apartment and the drugs were found in a bag on top of a dresser, Police Detective Michael Battles said in a probable cause affidavit.

The arrest was made at an apartment in the 1000 block of North Hemlock Street, and the total weight of the methamphetamine was .02 grams.

Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said Wilson had no prior convictions or pending charges when Wilson appeared in court Friday.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Wilson after ruling that prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with possession of a controlled substance.

Judge Kearney appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent Wilson, and told him to come back to court April 25.
