Pine Bluff Fire and Emergency Services officials are asking for help in locating the person or persons who attempted to set an abandoned house on fire on the east side of Pine Bluff Monday night.

A reward is available for information leading to the identity of the person responsible for the fire at East 30th Avenue and Kentucky Street, spokesman Lt. Harold Clark said Tuesday.

Clark said a fire was set in the front door of the structure, but firefighters arrived so quickly that they were able to extinguish the blaze before it got started.

“This type of house is a prime target,” Clark said. “It’s abandoned, has no utilities, and the grass is all grown up.”

Anyone with information should contact Fire and Emergency Services at 730-2048 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., or 541-5300 after 5 p.m.

All calls will be kept anonymous.
