A Pine Bluff man previously convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery in 2011 was arrested again Wednesday night and could face a felony allegation.
Michael Chidester, 29, allegedly got into a verbal altercation with his girlfriend that turned physical, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing Friday for Chidester.
Detective Sgt. Charles Harrison said in a probable cause affidavit the incident occurred at on Cypress Drive and the alleged victim had scratches and a bruise on her arm.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Chidester after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with second-offense third-degree domestic battery, a Class D felony.
Kearney also ordered Chidester to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled.
The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Chidester.
