A reported disturbance at a Pine Bluff motel early Thursday morning led to the arrest of a man who allegedly hit his girlfriend with a closed fist.
Shaun Goodwyn, 35, was found walking down Dollarway Road after the female called police, Detective Mike Sweeney said in a probable cause affidavit.
During a court hearing Friday, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said the alleged victim’s eye was swollen shut, and officers found a window at the room broken and the room damaged.
According to police records, Goodwyn had previously been convicted of misdemeanor domestic battery in Little Rock in 2010.
Because of that prior conviction, Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth ruled prosecutors had probable cause to charge Goodwyn with second offense third-degree domestic battery, a Class D felony.
Bridgforth set a $10,000 bond for Goodwyn and ordered him to have no contact with the alleged victim until the case is settled.
Goodwyn was told to come back to court June 28.
