A reported disturbance Wednesday afternoon in the Dollarway area resulted in the arrest of a man who allegedly threatened another man with a hunting knife.
Ricky Lenard, 52, reportedly threatened Floyd Roberts after Roberts tried to intervene in an altercation between Lenard and his girlfriend, Detective Steven Rucker reported in a probable cause affidavit.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Lenard after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with aggravated assault Thursday.
According to the affidavit, Lenard reportedly followed Paula Holland down Moreland Street where Roberts saw them and when he got involved, Lenard allegedly pulled out the hunting knife.
Rucker reported that Roberts pulled out a small pocket knife and Lenard allegedly followed Roberts to a convenience store at Dollarway Road and Hutchinson Street where police located them.
A records check indicated that Lenard had multiple convictions dating back to 1978 and had been incarcerated several times. He is currently on probation.
Kearney also ordered Lenard to have no contact with Roberts until the case is settled and told Lenard to come back to court Dec. 13. The Public Defender’s Office was appointed to represent Lenard.
