Pine Bluff police conducting a roadblock Saturday at 36th Avenue and Old Warren Road recovered a vehicle that had been reported stolen in Hot Springs and arrested the man driving the vehicle.
Richard Miller, 26, of Sweet Home, reportedly told police he came to Pine Bluff with a relative who had driven the vehicle, a 2003 Ford Expedition, and didn’t know that it was reportedly stolen.
During a court hearing Monday, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said Miller had no prior felony convictions or pending charges, but had been convicted of misdemeanor theft of property in the past.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $25,000 bond for Miller after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with theft by receiving.
Kearney appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent Miller and told him to come back to court Dec. 31.
