A Pine Bluff man was arrested Monday after police determined that he had pawned items allegedly stolen from a house and car.
Kelei Jones, 19, allegedly pawned jewelry and an iPod that had been reported stolen, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said Tuesday during a court hearing for Jones.
Detective Larry Gailey reported that a female victim reported that a firearm and GPS were missing from her car Aug. 16 and another firearm was reported missing from a closet in the house.
Kizer said the victim’s son told his parents that Jones had allegedly taken an iPod from him and refused to give it back and also said he had taken the gun to scare Jones into giving him the iPod back but never showed the gun to Jones.
On Aug. 31, the female victim reported that she discovered jewelry missing from the house and Gailey said in a probable cause affidavit that when he checked a list of items that had been pawned, found that Jones had pawned jewelry Aug. 16 and an iPod on Aug. 10.
Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Jones after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with breaking or entering and theft of property.
Kearney told Jones to come back to court Oct. 23.
