Police find Hydrocodone after traffic stop

A traffic stop by police Thursday resulted in the arrest of a Pine Bluff man on drug related charges.

Vice and Narcotics Detective Jason Howard said they found hydrocodone in the vehicle Calvin Meadows, 21, was driving, Deputy Prosecutor Maxie Kizer said during a court hearing Friday.

Kizer said Meadows did not have a prescription for the hydrocodone.

Howard reported that officers also found a small amount of a substance that field tested positive for marijuana in Meadows’ shoe.

Kizer said Meadows had no prior felony convictions or pending charges, but had been arrested for misdemeanor possession of marijuana in 2011.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $5,000 bond for Meadows after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with possession of a controlled substance.

Kearney appointed the Public Defender’s Office to represent Meadows, and told him to come back to court April 12.
