Police arrest man after disturbance call

A reported disturbance in central Pine Bluff Tuesday afternoon resulted in the arrest of a man who allegedly kicked open the door of a house.

Alden Evans, 35, had reportedly gotten into an altercation with Claudell Turner at 2719 Cherry St., and when Turner went inside the house and closed the door, Evans allegedly kicked the door open, Detective Jeremy Funderburg said in a probable cause affidavit.

Funderburg reported that after Evans entered the house, he chased Turner until he was told to leave by the homeowner and was arrested after he attempted to flee from police officers.

Evans was not interviewed because Funderburg reported that Evans was intoxicated at the time.

Pine Bluff District Judge John Kearney set a $10,000 bond for Evans after ruling prosecutors had probable cause to charge him with residential burglary.

Kearney appointed the Public Defenders Office to represent Evans, and told him to come back to court Nov. 15.
